The ashoka tree is of medium size with beautiful dark green foliage and bright orange flowers.
In Indian literature it is famed to have given shelter and protection to Sita, the wife of the mythical hero Rama in her most difficult times against her persecutor.
That is also why the ashoka tree is a cherished plant in India.
The old ayurvedic texts attribute especially positive characteristics for women to the tree. The bark of the ashoka tree is used in various ayurvedic formulations. Parts of the ashoka bark are combined with many other famed herbs and fermented according to ancient and traditional techniques, producing the legendary women’s tonic Ashokarishta.

Directions
Dose for adults: 2 x daily 15-30 ml with the same amount of water.

Aqueous Extract from: Saraca indica 580/1161 mg, Fire flame bush 572/1145 mg, Terminalia belerica (bibhitaki) 45/91 mg, Terminalia chebula (haritaki) 45/90 mg, Emblica officinalis (amalaki) 40/80 mg, Adhatoda vasica 21/42 mg, Carum carvi (black caraway) 16/32 mg, Cuminum cyminum (cumin) 15/30 mg, Mangifera indica (mango) 14/28 mg, Zingiber officinale (ginger) 12/24 mg, Nymphaea stellata (water-lily) 10/21 mg, Berberis aristata 7/15 mg, Cyperus rotundus 6/12 mg, Pterocarpus santalinus (red sandalwood) 3/6 mg.
