Ayurvedic “Iced“ Tea

Simple & delicious: the newly created Ayurveda “iced’ tea from Heide Maria Vendler in Austria. Its base is the fine and mild Maharishi Ayurveda Pitta Tea, which is refreshingly cool on hot summer days. Complemented by the fruity, sweet aroma of elderflower syrup and the sour, fresh taste of lemon and ginger, this Ayurveda “iced” tea is not only delicious on hot summer days.

Although, traditionally, iced tea is a cold drink, Ayurveda, in order to not weaken the digestive strength, suggests not having ice-cold drinks even on very hot days. Therefore, enjoy our Ayurveda “iced tea” cooled to room temperature.

Preparation
Slice the lemon. Put the tea bag, lemon slices, ginger slices and cinnamon stick into a heatproof jug. Add boiling water and let it steep for 30 minutes. Strain the tea and add elderflower syrup to taste. Serve warm or at room temperature. Your refreshing Ayurveda summer drink is ready!

How to serve
Before filling the glasses, dip the top of each glass in lemon juice, let it drip off, if necessary, and then dip in sugar. This is best done using saucers that are filled 1 to 2mm high with lemon juice or sugar respectively.
Then cut 1 to 2 lemon slices down the middle and stick on the edge of the glass.
