The Ayurvedic cleansing treatment

Panchakarma is the Ayurvedic term for what is a precisely coordinated series of physical treatments. The therapy is targeted at gently but permanently eliminating toxins and metabolic waste material from the physiology, thereby restoring a harmonious balance in the body. Panchakarma is used for the treatment and prevention of diseases and for increased well-being.

Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis

In traditional Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis, the pulse is felt with three fingers to detect potential faults or imbalances in the interaction of the doshas. Body and breathing exercises

Yoga asanas are a set of physical postures performed one after the other. It is important to have a relaxed poise – asana means comfortable position – and not to strain in performing the asanas. The aim is to bring back into harmonious balance the different energies in the body which all too often work against each other. In this process one can be consciously aware of the free flow of energy and notice the dissolving of blocks, as one makes close contact with one's own body. Each individual position enlivens specific forces in the mind-body system. By directing one's attention effortlessly to the part of the body being exercised, one allows it to be recharged with energy. On the physical level, the asanas have a positive effect on the brain, the nervous system and glands, and massage the inner organs. One particularly pleasing effect is greater mobility and stamina, without being exhausted after the exercises. On the mental level, the exercises smooth out fluctuations in mood and calm the mind.

Pranayama – balanced breathing

Pranayama is a simple breathing technique, which allows the mind to come to rest and puts the body in a relaxed state, especially before meditation. Coherence is produced between the left and right sides of the brain. At the same time, energy reserves are activated, one feels physically very light and clear in mind.

Techniques of consciousness

Transcendental Meditation

Transcendental Meditation naturally produces a unique state of very deep physical rest and relaxation. At the same time, the mind remains fully alert. Consciousness rests within itself. Stress and tensions are released. Mind and body come to a state of rest and draw precious energy. The technique is so simple that it can be practised anywhere and anytime – at home, in the office or even on a train or plane.

Transcendental Meditation improves health

Over 600 scientific studies conducted at more than 200 universities and research institutes in 27 countries around the world during the past 30 years confirm the outstanding effects of Transcendental Meditation (TM). Thus TM is the only technique of consciousness whose positive effects have been so intensively studied.

Vedic sound and music therapies

Maharishi Gandharva Veda

The melodies of Gandharva Veda music share the same origins as our body and mind, just like everything in nature. They express the universal resonance and vibrations that according to Ayurvedic knowledge underlie all creation.

The rishis or Vedic sages of India recognised these basic vibrations of nature thousands of years ago. According to the rishis, the vibrations change every three hours. A separate melody or raga therefore exists for each of these three-hour periods, called praharas. You can listen to some ragas at any time of day.

Listening to the Maharishi Gandharva Veda melodies helps create a sense of inner balance and harmony. The closer the body and mind are in harmony with the rhythms of nature, the greater the feeling of well-being.

Vedic astrology

Jyotish (pronounced Joe-teesh, comes from 'jyoti', which is Sanskrit for 'light') is the astrology of the Vedic high culture. Since in Ayurvedic understanding everything affects everything else and the same universal intelligence that also guides us as individuals is reflected in greater and smaller matters, planetary patterns at the time of our birth provide valuable clues in helping us understand our life's journey.

Vedic architecture

Maharishi Sthapatya Veda

'Because the individual life is cosmic, everything about individual life should be in full harmony with cosmic life. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda gives dimensions, formulas and orientations to the buildings that will provide cosmic harmony and support to the individual for his or her peace, prosperity and good health – daily life in accord with natural law, daily life in the evolutionary direction.' - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Maharishi Sthapatya Veda is the Vedic science of healthy building and homes. By designing our environment in harmony with universal forces, all energies are mutually enriched and promote spiritual and material well-being.
