Are you easily irritated, or do you tend towards perfectionism at this time of year? If you are a ‘Pitta type’ or spent your holidays under the southern sun, it could well be that Pitta has gone out of balance. Pitta Dosha stands for the fire in our physiology, and according to Ayurveda it accumulates as summer progresses.
Pitta out of balance and aggravated in autumn? Activate your internal cooling.
Harmonize Pitta Dosha with Pitta-reducing foods (sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes), for example ghee, milk, butter, barley, mung beans, basmati rice, artichoke, avocado, lettuce, potatoes, squash, zucchini, pomegranate, melon, coconut, and raisins.
How do you know whether Pitta has accumulated? Redness, heartburn, bowel irritation, irritability, and sleep disturbances all signal that Pitta may have accumulated in excess.
Recommended herbs and spices for a naturally balanced Pitta are
licorice, ginger (in small amounts), chamomile, vetiver, cardamom, coriander, turmeric, saffron, aloe vera, cinnamon, cumin, turmeric, fennel, and cloves.
To tame Pitta the following are highly recommended: Pitta tea, ‘Pitta Balance’ food supplement, and a morning full-body oil massage (Abhyanga) with wonderfully cooling coconut oil.
In general you should avoid meals that are too hot or spicy. Mild and exotic Pitta Churna is the perfect seasoning.
Avoid sports in the sun, and heavy perspiration. If you understand that fire and heat are qualities of Pitta, then your inner intelligence will tell you that at this time of year everything that cools and soothes is good. This is also true for daily life, and dealing with people. Allow yourself to be more easy-going, and give yourself more rest and relaxation. It may almost sound a bit too simple, but that is why you could even try it—and then you might find that Ayurveda really is very easy, and may help you remarkably effectively.
We wish you deep peace of mind through balanced Pitta dosha, and are pleased to offer you some of the best Pitta products at a special price.
